About

Hello and welcome to my space!

My name is Tonye Barango-Tariah and I am the founder of both Freedom At The Crossroads and more recently, The Home Herb Chef (@theherbyhomechef). Over the last few years, this blog has undergone quite a few changes. To be honest, I have evolved both personally and professionally in order to reflect more of my authentic self and what I hope to achieve in this space.

I’ve now moved my fit-lifestyle content to Freedom At The Crossroads and crafting this space to fit my love of infusing healing herbs and spices with recipes from my homeland as well as other parts of the world! I truly hope to make this space one of inclusion, learning and community. I’m also being much more intentional about exploring and tapping into the ways we can heal and nourish the body by incorporating spices, herbs and techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Fun fact: My favorite uncle was both an African herbalist and naturopathic practitioner before it was a “thing” and I owe my long-ingrained curiosity about herbs and their culinary and medicinal uses, for most of my life!

P.S. As you may have noticed, this site is being transformed as I flesh out my ideas so stay tuned and hop over to my sister site at Freedom At the Crossroads as well as my youtube channel by the same name!

  1. Hello there

Thanks for the follow! How have you been and how’s your blog doing?
I don’t know if you know that I moved my blog to a self-hosted platform. This has prevented me from connecting with WordPress bloggers like I used to. I would still like to remain in contact with your blog. Do you have an RSS feed I can subscribe to?
If you would still like to follow my blog, may I add you to my mailing list? I send out one email per day with all the blogs posted for the day including blogging tips. You can also unsubscribe at any time if you feel you want to stop receiving the emails. If you are happy for me to subscribe you, please send me your email address.
Also, I created a blogger tips group to connect with all my long last WordPress blogger friends, and to help all of us to learn from each other. I would love for you to share your knowledge in the group and connect with other bloggers. Here’s the link:

  2. No, it’s not a weight loss blog. While I do advocate for “fitness” via an active lifestyle, my blog is a self-care and nutrition blog. Balance is “always” at the center of any fulfilling lifestyle (a.k.a. holistic) and it does not have a “designated” weight requirement, it’s sad that you confused the notion of fitness, with advocating weight-loss.

Additionally, there is nothing productive or positive about focusing on weight in general terms. Blessings!
