If it don’t apply, let it fly!…

Yes, yes, yes and YES! I was listening to some positive words of wisdom from a wise soul at work the other day, and at the end of all her musings, she said “if it don’t apply, let it fly”, in reference to negativity, unproductive criticism, and all those “things” or “people” who want to “help” us kill our dreams before we even have a chance to make our own calculations.

Wow, I do believe I’ve seen that movie! “No, no, you’ve gotta stick to what you know”,”are you still trying to lose some weight dear?”, “your standards are just too unreasonable”, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”, “don’t quit your day job” ( to start your own business and follow your dreams) and Blah, blah, blah, BLAH! Been there, done it, AND NOT going back down that rabbit hole. It always seems like all the negative ninnys seem to appear in droves whenever you feel like you’ve finally hit that jump off point; where ย you’ve gained the strength to take the risk to change and better your life.

My take away from that convo? don’t let your situation, negative criticism (yes, there is a difference between productive criticism vs. the other stuff), or other people’s vision of YOUR potential future, hinder you. If you’re serious about getting fit and healthy, then take ACTION and block out anything or anyone who’s telling you that you’re not being realistic. If that were true, NO one would take a reality tv star as a REAL candidate for president; just saying! Enough about that and back to the issue at hand. This journey has taken me to some interesting and uncomfortable places in my life, but I don’t regret any of it because I’m in a much better place physically not to speak of my mental and emotional health.

All that being said, you do have to be honest with yourself and face the facts about your situation, NOT wallow in them! Once you’ve done that, make a plan, plot your course, and stick to it. Now for the really hard stuff, haha ha…

A new day, another weekend…

I have to keep reminding myself that although it’s another weekend going by, I still have a chance to close out the week by making sure I accomplish something, scratch some to-dos off the list, make some more changes, blah blah blah! Yes all that is true, but I have to confess that like everything else in life, the actual “DOING” takes action to pull it into and make it a part of my reality.

Being a very visual person, for me, that means coming outside of my head and actually moving my physical self to engage in action as a way of motivating myself to go to the next level. I guess this is why getting my health on track through physical fitness activities, diet, etc is ALSO forcing me to look at the other areas of my life that need work too! What i’m trying to say is this: ย if you’ve let your health languish and fall off of the deep end, there’s also a pretty good chance that the other areas of your life are so hot either; just saying!

Want to lose weight and maintain it? You’ve gotta own it and stick to your fitness and nutritional plans; there’s literally no magic involved; seriously! Waist “cinchers” *cough* trimmers, weight-loss pills, mystery potions, WILL NOT help you; some might actually damage your organs. Come on! I CAN’T be the only one who’s seen the lawsuit class action suits over this danger stuff๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜•

Hmmm, how’s that list coming along?

Well, how is it? You know that long list of to-dos that you were planning to tear through at the speed of light, like X-men’s blowing through the baddies all in a single flurry? Yeah, that one!
The bottom line is, NOTHING will change if I DON’T MOVE! So I decided to get my butt back in gear and REMEMBER why I started on this journey ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘Š Maybe that’s not your story, but I know I’m NOT the only one who has or is struggling with health issues, trying to lose weight or is just straight up trying to make the switch to a healthy lifestyle. image

I’ve found tremendous support by becoming both a beach body coach and partnering with an awesome challenge group filled with people striving for the same thing. It’s HARD I won’t lie, but IT’S worth it, and most importantly, I’M WORTH IT!๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘Š What about YOU,out there? Are you struggling too? Need some help and motivation?
